Whether it is the ongoing farmers' protest or the nepotism debate after Sushant Singh Rajput's death, Kangana Ranaut always has an opinion on everything. However, one of her misinformed tweet about an elderly Sikh woman led to a Twitter war between her and singer-turned-actor Diljit Dosanjh. What followed was a barrage of tweets from both ends.

Mar 28, 2021 As Kylie fans flooded the internet with wishes for the young beauty mogul, Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh too took to his Twitter handle to congratulate Kylie Jenner. He wrote, 'Balle tere Cali die Sher Bachhiye' in a deleted tweet. Diljit has been known to be a big fan of the youngest Kardashian-Jenner sister. Twitter saw nothing like this all year - an explosive spat between the champion defender of the BJP Central Govt. #Kangana Ranaut and Punjabi Superstar Singe.

HOW IT STARTED

Actors Diljit Dosanjh and Kangana Ranaut were embroiled in a bitter war of words over the farmers' protest on Thursday, a Twitter spat that began with Shaheen Bagh protester Bilkis Bano but soon. Diljit Dosanjh and Kangana Ranaut have locked horns on micro-blogging site Twitter after the Punjabi pop star had slammed the Queen actress for her misinformed tweet regarding farmers protest. The Twitter war between Diljit Dosanjh and Kangana Ranaut has been getting uglier all through Thursday, and a few Bollywood celebrities have come forward in support of the Punjabi singer-actor. As the verbal fight got nasty, actors Angad Bedi, Shruti Seth, Kubbra Sait, Mika Singh, and Swara Bhasker posted support for Diljit.

It started with Kangana sharing false information about an elderly Sikh woman, who was the participant of the ongoing Farmers' Protest. In her tweet, she said that the elderly woman was protesting to earn a sum of Rs 100. The actress also claimed that the same woman was the Shaheen Bagh Dadi, Bilkis Bano.

WHEN DILJIT TRIED TO CORRECT KANGANA

Though Kangana later deleted the tweet, it had already angered many celebrities, including Diljit Dosanjh, who has unabashedly supported the farmers' protest. Diljit took it upon himself to correct Kangana, which lead to a major Twitter spat between the two.

Diljit shared a video of the elderly Sikh woman to clear Kangana's doubt. He wrote, 'Respected Mahinder Kaur Ji. Ah Sunn La Ni With Proof @KanganaTeam. Banda Ena V Ni Anna Hona Chaida..Kush v Boli Turi jandi aa .. (Listen to this Kangana, with proof. A person should not be this blind. She (Kangana) keeps on saying anything) (sic).'

KANGANA CALLED DILJIT 'KARAN JOHAR'S PALTU'

Miffed with Diljit's response, Kangana hit back calling him, 'Karan Johar ke paltu.' She wrote, 'Ooo Karan Johar ke paltu, jo dadi Saheen Baag mein apni citizenship keliye protest kar rahi thi wohi Bilkis Bano dadi ji Farmers ke MSP ke liye bhi protest karti hue dikhi. Mahinder Kaur ji ko toh main janti bhi nahin. Kya drama chalaya hai tum logon ne? Stop this right now. (Oh Karan Johar's pet. The dadi who was protesting at Shaheen Bagh for citizenship, that same Bilkis Bano dadi ji was also seen protesting for farmers. I don't know who is Mahinder Kaur Ji. What is this drama?) (sic).'

DILJIT HAS A BEFITTING RESPONSE

But Diljit had the best response waiting for Kangana. He wrote, 'Tuneh Jitne Logon Ke Saath Film Ki Tu Un Sab Ki Paaltu Hai...? Fer To List Lambi Ho Jaegi Maalko Ki..? Eh Bollywood Wale Ni PUNJAB Wale aa .. Hikk Te Vajj Sadey. Jhooth bol kar logo ko badhkana aur emotions se khailna woh toh aap achey se janti ho (Are you a pet of whoever you have worked with? The list will be long then. This isn't Bollywood, this is Punjab. You know how to play with people's emotions) (sic).'

THE TWITTER WAR CONTINUED

Replying to Diljit's tweet, Kangana then wrote, 'Oh chamche chal, tu jinki chat chat ke kaam leta hai, main unki roz bajati hoon, jayada mat uchal, main Kangana Ranaut hoon tere jaisi chamchi nahin jo jhoot boloon, maine sirf aur sirf Shaheen Baag wali protestor pe comment kiya tha, if anyone can prove otherwise I will apologise. (Oh come on you bootlicker, the ones you butter up to get work, I teach them lessons every day. Don't get too excited. I am Kangana Ranaut, not a bootlicker like you who will lie, I only commented on Shaheen Bagh protester) (sic).'

After Kangana's remark, Diljit wrote that she doesn't have the manners to talk to someone's mother or sister. He also wrote that she has now stirred up a hornet's nest. He wrote, 'SADE PUNJAB DIAN MAAVA SADEY LAI RAB NE.. Eh tan Bhoonda De Khakhar nu Shedh Leya Tu.. PUNJABI GOOGLE KAR LI. (Our mothers are equivalent to god for us. You have stirred up a hornet's nest. Google the Punjabi) (sic).'

After Diljit Dosanjh's tweet, Kangana tried to explain her stance, saying that she was only making a comment on Shaheen Baag dadi. She wrote, 'I had only commented on Shaheen Baag dadi cos they instigated riots there even that tweet was deleted almost immediately, I don't know from where they brought another elderly lady in to the picture and now endlessly spreading lies.Vultures trying to instigate mob against a woman (sic).'

Diljit Dosanjh, however, was in no mood to give up. He replied saying that Kangana can't threaten him. He wrote, 'Dheley Di Akal Ni Tainu.. Sadian Maava Nu Tu 100rs Wali Das dian.. Bollywood Di Dhamki Te Draava Kisey Hor nu Daee JAA Ke.. Asi VATT Kadhan Nu Hee Jamey an Tu Boldi Rahi an Bollywood waleya Nu..Tera Muh Pey Geya Har ek Nu Maada Bolan Da.. Replying to Diljit, Kangana wrote that she understands Punjabi. She further wrote, 'Jinhonne Delhi mein riots karvaye khoon ki nadiyaan bahae, dangge karvaye unko defend karte hue sharm nahi aati? Tujhe kya sharm aayegi, kjo kaise kaam deta hai sabko pata hai (Don't you feel ashamed to defend those who triggered riots in Delhi? Calling Diljit 'dumbo,' Kangana again tried to make her point. She wrote, 'Oye dumbo baat wahi hai jab kisi ki citizenship gayi he nahin toh Saheen Baag dadi ne kiske kehne pe protests kiye? Jab MSP hataya he nahin toh phir wahi dadi kiske bhejne pe Farmers protests mein hissa le rahi hai? Kaun usko peeche se prompt karta hai when she speaks?'

She went on to say, 'Dear @diljitdosanjh @priyankachopra If you are seriously worried about the farmers, if you really respect your mothers, then at least listen to what is the Farm Bill? Or do you want to use your mothers, sisters and farmers to get into the good books of the traitors?'

In one tweet, Kangana even claimed that the protest resulted in a cumulative loss of Rs 70,000 crore. She wrote, 'Cost of farmers protests so far 70,000 crores, because of dharna economic slowdown in neighbouring industries and small factories, might lead to riots, @diljitdosanjh and @priyankachopra you understand our actions have serious consequences please tell me who will pay for this?'
